Listening to Michael Kay doing broadcasts you get to learn a lot from the man. This might explain some more things about him.
Kenny, and Michael were watching Posada put his bat on the ground of getting out. They figured that he was punishing his bat for making an out and putting it in a corner.
Ken Singleton - "You ever get sent to a corner for a time out Michael? Can you remember?"
Michael Kay - "Ahhh, no that's not how we got disciplined."
KS - "I'm not going to ask."
MK - "It would be considered incorrect to do it now."
I'll let the reader imagine how he was disciplined as a child.
Also as a bonus today, Michael Kay along with Steve Philips was filling in on the Dan Patrick show. So if you have ESPN insider you may find some hidden gems in there.

@ Cleveland Indians 08/11/07
Not something Michael Kay said this time, but Paul O'Neill made me laugh.
During a replay of a hit up the middle, they left the call in by Michael Kay. Which is odd cause usually they usually don't have the call on the replay. Without missing a beat Paul says this:
Paul O'Neill - "Even on the replay we have to hear you talk."
Thank goodness that's not usually the case!

@ Toronto Blue Jays 08/08/07
Kenny, and Michael are talking about people who are physically gifted and mental gifted for playing the game of baseball. People that are mentally gifted make adjustments to their game, while if you aren't you don't.
Ken Singleton - "The final adjustment you make is you come up here." (To the broadcast booth)
Michael Kay - "Then you have to deal with a mentally unstable person like me."
Well, couldn't have said it better myself.

VS Chicago White Sox 07/31/07
Two mistakes in one quote for Michael today.
Michael Kay - "Many people believe that Glavine could be the last .300 hitter we see
in this generation."
First Glavine is a career .188 hitter. Far from .300 that he claims he is.
Second Ichiro, Pujols, or Helton have a really good chance to be a .300 hitter when the game is over.
Oh... unless Kay meant a 300 game winner. Why didn't he say so...

VS Toronto Blue Jays 07/18/07
Michael wants to transcend space and time and thinks Joe Girardi has the answer.
Michael Kay - "Is there anything you can do to counteract a long inning, Joe, for the pitcher? Is there anything you can do to simulate some kind of..."
Joe Girardi - "Its pretty hard..."
I'm thinking a time machine maybe, that would be hard.

VS Toronto Blue Jays 07/17/07
Kay ties his own record and says something stupid in the Pre-game show.
Michael Kay - "I'll tell you what Bob, you always say that this is the type of game that you would pay to see. Because its Hallyday against Pettitte, I actually bought a ticket, I didn't have to use it, but I bought a ticket, because I wanted to say I paid to see this one."
I'm glad you can waste money like that. That goes to show that they are paying you to much to throw your money around on an empty seat. I'll tell you what. Let me sit in the broadcast booth and you sit in the seat you paid for.
Not only did he buy an empty seat so some unlucky fan couldn't get in the ballpark this evening, he bragged about it on national television. Wow...

VS Minnesota Twins 07/02/2007
Paul O'Neil talks about a game he watched on Yankees Classic recently.
Paul O'Neil - "And I'll tell you what made me laugh, A-Rod made a play, he made a double play and he sold you on a triple play."
Michael Kay - "That's right ya, I do remember that play."
PO - "That's probably the last mistake you made though, that's pretty good."
MK - "I think it was the only one."
I guess he must not remember that game to much. I'm sure he made more then one mistake in that game much less ever.
